The Hunting Season

The idyllic Canadian landscape depicts a wilderness lake in the boreal forest in the fall, during the apotheosis of color. Almost invisible, one perceives the furtive presence of a mouse with majestic antlers — the hunter’s dream trophy. Canadiana is a pastiche of these kitchy landscapes. The theme is treated like a Paint by Number. Yet the illusion is created by the juxtaposition of more than 8000 triangles and squares drawn in a uniform symmetrical paving.
