Drifting Between Motion and Stillness

Liminal Drift is a body of digital works designed for the screen — contemplative, slow, and textured. These pieces don’t depict. They evoke. Each work drifts between motion and stillness, presence and absence. They do not demand interpretation — they offer space.

Inspired by the atmospheric restraint of Agnes Martin, the stillness of Hiroshi Sugimoto, and the poetic ambiguity of Roni Horn, this project explores threshold states. Images emerge, then dissolve. Some remain silent, while others move almost imperceptibly. The works invite a pause, not to understand, but to feel.

These pieces exist as digital animations and stills. They are not meant to hang on a wall, but to appear — briefly — on a screen. They hover in liminal space, where resolution is not the goal. Therefore, clarity remains suspended.

In a world saturated with imagery, Liminal Drift steps aside. It does not aim to explain or decorate. Instead, it holds space for ambiguity. Each work slows perception and resists resolution. As a result, what matters is not what you see, but how long you stay. These pieces are not narratives — they are durations, echoes, and soft intervals of time.

Featured Work

Threshold is the first published piece in the Liminal Drift series. It explores the moment before form stabilizes — a space of hesitation, light, and slow emergence. Through subtle animation and ambient rhythm, it opens a field of presence that never fully arrives.

What Lies Ahead in Liminal Drift

Other works will drift into view. Some as Reels, others as silent stills. To follow their emergence, revisit this page or explore the artist’s Instagram feed. Future pieces may expand the vocabulary of this series: horizontal driftings, layered hesitations, looped silences. The project will unfold gradually, like breath held in grayscale.

They never wanted to be images. Only thresholds. Skins of time, adrift in light. When they disappear, they remember more than they showed.
