Ethereal Solid
Ethereal Solid – Abstract Digital Art by Denis Leclerc
Ethereal Solid is a digital art series that pushes abstraction into a more subtle, textured space. Each piece explores how light, form, and motion blend together. As a result, the images seem to hover between solidity and vapour. This tension creates a quiet intensity. It arises through layered brushwork and moments of visual uncertainty. Therefore, the Ethereal Solid digital art series continues Denis Leclerc’s search for balance—between tension and stillness, gesture and atmosphere.
What is Ethereal Solid?
At its heart, Ethereal Solid invites you to pause. Unlike more colourful or dynamic series, these works live in subtle contrasts. They rely on grayscale palettes, softened metallic textures, and intricate blurs. As a result, each image feels both unfinished and complete. Some works suggest industrial echoes. Others dissolve into fluid motion. Still, every fragment contributes to a broader language—one that embraces uncertainty and rewards close attention. In this way, the series offers a meditative viewing experience.
How Denis Created the Ethereal Solid Digital Art Series
Denis builds this series slowly—one gesture at a time. He begins each piece on an iPad, where forms emerge through constant revision. Instead of following a template, he works intuitively. Sometimes the process feels abrupt; at other times, it’s meditative. Because of this, the images seem to shift with each glance. For example, Digital Fragments 416 and 417 introduce metallic density and fractured depth. These elements point to a new visual direction within the Ethereal Solid digital art series. Moreover, they highlight Denis’s evolving vocabulary of abstract forms.

Behind the Series
Denis also keeps a visual journal that documents the evolution of the Ethereal Solid series. In it, he shares early sketches, rough compositions, and thoughts on each stage. He writes this blog—titled œuvre en chantier—in French, his first language. As such, it offers a more personal look at how abstraction becomes material. If you’re curious about the process, you can follow these updates through the Œuvre en chantier section. In contrast to the finished works, these entries show how ideas begin and grow.
Whether you’re here to explore, collect, or simply reflect, the Ethereal Solid digital art series invites you to slow down. It encourages you to notice how even the softest forms can carry presence—and sometimes, even weight.
